When Anna finds a naked man hanging from an oak tree in the nature reserve by the lake, everything changes.
The dogs sense it first. Cars pass too slowly on the road toward the abandoned cement works. Something is moving around the lake.
What at first appears to be a series of unconnected deaths soon begins to point toward something older, more organized, and far harder to explain than anyone wants to admit. And the closer Anna gets to the truth, the clearer it becomes that she is no longer simply looking for it.
